TUNNELLING & CONSTRUCTION

We use the most technologically advanced vibration monitoring and management systems from Sigicom in Sweden. The Infra monitoring systems are the only in the world using smart geophones, this innovative solution removes the risk for human error and back ground noise from the workplace enabling monitoring to extremely low levels. Our on line state of the art vibration monitoring & management system INFRA Net not only has the blast results available online within minutes, it is also capable of advanced data processing and analysis of results. This function allows for quick and effective prediction of expected vibrations allowing for quick feedback to the contractor of the Maximum Instantaneous Charge(MIC) requirements for the next blast.
Expert involvement in some of the largest tunnels and caverns developed down to small scale tunnels, cross passages, shafts, road cuttings and more in urban environments has lead to the evolution of the most accurate environmental prediction and management tools and methods in the industry.
D&B REVIEWS & AUDITS
Osterman is able to review the whole D&B process of a mine from short term planning, design down to implementation and optimisation. To offer a complete package we generally recommend a review of the Site Operational Procedures (SOP) followed by an audit of the procedures against the SOP’s. Specialising in D&B Design and Performance Monitoring, we are able to offer a complete package to help optimise operations once the site KPI’s are identified.
We have built a review system that compares the mine procedures to best practices, scoring the site on all its D&B procedures against best practices as well as recommending improvement. The aim is to run the review on an annual basis to access the improvements from year to year.
UG HARD ROCK MINING
One of our core competencies is all forms of underground mining applications. D&B designs for drawbells, undercuts and orebody pre-conditioning blasts as well as all development requirements for block and panel caves. Sub-level caving, stoping, resue and narrow vein mining are some of the UG methods that Osterman has vast experience in.
Our in-depth experience in tunnelling has enabled us to integrate some of the latest technology from tunnelling into development mining to produce the longest rounds in Australia as well as achieving Australian records of approximately 300 meters/month of a single decline.
